We fully understand that the decision to send your student abroad is a big one, and comes with many questions and concerns. We want to assure you that we are here to support you fully as you prepare your student for departure, and throughout their time with us here at the ADA. We believe that study abroad is an invaluable opportunity for your child to grow as a student, an artist, and an individual, and we want to do everything we can to help you know exactly what you as a parent can expect along the way. Here you will find answers regarding finances, health and safety, packing, travel, and more!
Safety Abroad: In the event of an emergency, our Student Life Coordinator and Guardian lives on-site and can be reached on the 24-hour ADA emergency phone: (011 39) 331 256 7876. To dial from within Italy, omit the numbers in parentheses.
In the event of an emergency the Accademia dell’Arte has a system in place to locate and communicate with all students. We recommend that prior to departure, you establish with your student a system of communication should an emergency occur, whether at home or in Italy. They should arrive on-site knowing how to reach you should they ever need to, and vice versa.
In addition, we encourage parents to apply for or renew their own passports in the event that they should need to join their child abroad for any reason.
