Graduate Application
We are currently accepting applications for the 2011 - 2013 program from September 2010. Candidates are asked to read the MFA Audition Information and Guidelines.

Candidates are required to have a primary degree or equivalent. Completed primary degrees are not limited to performance-related studies. Applications are invited from US students, as well as those from countries whose degree programs are recognized as being equivalent. In some cases it may be necessary for the candidate to verify the equivalency with an agency that is statutorily qualified to do so.

Non-Degree Seeking Candidates
Accademia dell’Arte welcomes students who are not seeking a final degree. Please read the Graduate Enrollment Status Options for more information.

Candidates Who Cannot Attend One of the Scheduled Audition Dates
We offer the option of individual auditions in a variety of venues in the US and Europe for candidates who cannot attend one of the scheduled auditions. This is subject to the availability of our correspondents who are close collaborators of the MFA in Physical Theatre. However, we strongly recommend that wherever possible candidates do attend one of the scheduled auditions where core faculty and other candidates will be present.

DVD Audition
Exceptionally a candidate may present a DVD audition, but where possible we stress the importance of a direct contact between the candidate and the facilitator(s) of a live audition.

The Accademia and Mississippi University for Women may however be unable to judge a candidate's potential to enter into the program solely on the merit of the DVD audition, and may therefore require a personal audition before proceeding.

Please note that no candidate may be admitted to the auditions until the full application process is completed and the appropriate application fee is processed.

Application Procedure and Acceptance
Once the candidate has fulfilled the entrance requirements and has presented for audition (either in person or by DVD), Accademia dell'Arte and Mississippi University for Women may make a formal offer of a place in the program. Offers must be accepted in writing within the time limit stated in the offer. Candidates must also supply a statement of their ability to fund the entire duration of the MFA program.

Accreditation for Graduate Program
The Master of Fine Arts in Physical Theatre is offered by Mississippi University for Women in cooperation with Accademia dell'Arte. Students must be admitted to the graduate program at MUW prior to enrolling for courses leading to the MFA degree.

Mississippi University for Women is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097: Telephone number 404-679-4501) and is authorized to award Associate, Bachelor and Master degrees.
